Sit
“Sit” may be the easiest dog obedience commands for owners to teach their dogs. Begin by holding a dog treat in front of your dogs nose. Then move your hand higher. This causes your dog to look up and his butt to sit on the floor. When he achieves the sitting position, say the command “Sit,” then give hi the treat and verbally give him positive sounds.
If you do this every day for 2-3 times a day, your dog will master it in no time. Ask your dog to sit before activities he enjoys, like before walks, right before meal time and in other situations where you want calm.
