This is going to be a review of the Midwest Life Stages Double Door Folding metal Dog Crate. I am going to show you some of the features and benefits of this wire crate and show you where you can get the best price on one of the most popular dog crates on the market.

This dog crate made by Midwest Life Stages is made by a manufacturer that is one of the biggest and longest producing pet care companies. The company Midwest Homes is actually a subdivision of their parent company Midwest Metal Products. I mentioned that they were one of the longest producing pet care companies. Take a guess how long they have been in business? If you guess over 90 years, then you would be correct.

Because of this long connection to the pet community, you can see why they are one of the on the market. They are simplistic, sturdy, and serve their purpose to house as well as train new puppies and older dogs.

Midwest Life Stages Double Door Folding Metal Dog Crate Features

  • this metal dog crate is very versatile with a divider panel that is adjustable for your needs. This means that you can buy a single large cage and adjust it as your puppy grows with the adjustable divder panel. When you are housebreaking your puppy this is very important or they will use a section of the cage as a toilet.
  • This unit comes with double doors that allows you access from the front as well as the side. This feature gives you extra convenience.
  • Comes with slide bolt latches to keep your pet secured inside.
  • Very easy to set up and tear down for portability. The unit comes with some plastic handles to carry it around and will not require any tools to set up the crate. I have tried to set up the crate from scratch and it took me about a minute to do so. Very fast and extremely easy to use crate.
  • The finish is black and extremely durable which is a nice touch.
  • A removable plan is included which makes cleaning a breeze.
  • There is a 1 year limited warranty on this unit. You can rest easy knowing that this cage will perform just like it should.

What Sizes Does It Come In?

There are many sizes that the Midwest Life Stages Double Door Folding Metal Dog crate comes in. These include 22 inch, 24 inch, 30 inch, 36 inch, 42 inch, and 48 inches.

Make sure to pick out a crate that will match the size of your puppy when he is full grown. You do not want to buy a crate and then end up buying another because your dog outgrew its old one. Allow for enough room for your dog to be comfortable turning around and laying down inside.

Why This Particular Metal Dog Crate?

Just the name alone of life stages: lets you know that this will be the only crate you need to buy when your dog is a puppy and will accommodate them until they are a full grown adult. Every product by midwest is known for safety, security, and the best for your pet in their mind. There is a reason that they have been successful in selling their product for all these years.

The best part though in my opinion is how easy it is to set up this crate. I know how annoying it can be trying to figure out directions but this is very straight forward!

Difference Between Life Stages Dog Crates and iCrate?

The difference between these two crates is sometimes a bit difficult to spot when you are first looking for a new home for your puppy. However, there are going to be two small differences. The first is that the size is different on each of these. iCrate tends to be a bit smaller with a lower height and more narrow in the middle.

The other difference you will notice is how strong the crates are. Life stages are going to be stronger because their grid of wire is much closer together. This means that while it will have more strength, it will also weigh a bit more.

Any Negatives of The Midwest Life Stages Double Door Metal Crate?

There are always going to be a few complaints from a small number of people when it comes to buy anything. Some people said that their dog was able to escape from this crate because they had dogs who were very smart. If this is the type of dog breed that you have, you might want to get something a little more escape proof for your pet. If not, then this is a great solution for you.

Final Thoughts

This metal wire dog crate is perfect if you are looking for something relatively light weight, easy to use, and simple. It scores over a 4 star rating from over 1300 people who left reviews on this product. Overall, one of my favorite crates for training your puppy from their younger years till they are older.

Final Final Thoughts

This crate is so fast to set up that I thought i would share a video with you of someone setting it up in under a minute. Enjoy!
