As many of you may know Picnic is named after one of my favourite chocolate bars, crazy but very true!
So therefore when it came to Picnics puppies litter name it had to be something sweet, cute and just a delicious as Picnic, so I have named her litter the PEBBLES which is another sweet treat I have enjoyed munching on during the past few days, for energy reasons of course!
Some of the black coloured puppies may actually be blue (fade to a dark charcoal grey colour) but this will not be known until the dog is approximately a year old or later. In the first few hours I did think a couple of the puppies may be brindle but after lots of comparing to Picnic coat when she was a puppy, I don’t think there is any brindles in the litter. The blacks may get some fading tones in areas of their coat, as Picnic had sable legs as a puppy, but I can’t see them being as brindle as their mummy, but aren’t colour genes amazing.
Picnic is proving to be an attentive and caring mother, not that I had any doubt in that and all puppies seem content and are feeding well with good weight gain. I am ever so proud of Picnic as she is such a clever, loving, gentle and loyal girl, plus a very mature and dedicated mother now, well done you are such a clever girl Picnic.
I always like to mention that these are very early days and it is a fact that not all puppies thrive at this young age for many reasons, however I like to share the experience with you and can guarantee these puppies will get the highest quality care and much attention, just like they have done for the past 9 weeks inside their mummy’s tummy.
