The Pomeranian is a former member of the Spitz family of dogs originating in the Russian Arctic and Siberia. These flocks, protection and traction sled dogs by any means, headed to the area of Germany and Poland, which was known as Pomerania, where the smaller types have been bred and used for sheep and in dogs company. In 1761, race was introduced in Britain by Queen Charlotte, but not until Queen Victoria has an interest in them and started to show breeding Pomeranians and their popularity has increased and became her a fashion accessory for society ladies. The Poms this time were large compared with those of today, many, of approximately 13.6 kg (30 pounds). Queen Victoria is credited with the importation of small fish and the selective breeding that led to the current standard and pretty tiny. The Pomeranian was recognized by the Kennel Club in 1870.

Character:

Although small, the Pomeranian has a big heart, great personality, and wit. He is very affectionate and natural place is with his family. Devoted to their owners, who loves nothing more than to be with them wherever they are and what they do. He is member friendly and outgoing, but also more effective monitoring. Always alert and protective of his house and people must give warning if strangers approach you or disturbances occurring on its territory. When meeting other dogs, usually not limited by its size and is ready to be friends, but must be thrown a challenge that will have the courage and will not be back, even if the possibilities under the size and weight, are against him. His docile and happy, make him a good friend of the elderly, children from consideration, but the race is not recommended for families with very young children because it can be easily injured by abuse, and can be immersed in water for noise, frenetic games. As cute and attractive, such as the Pom is not too friendly and comes with spoiling. Its a dog and, like any dog, for your happiness, you must know the limits of acceptable behavior. Lively, lightweight and compact faithful, Pomerania loving and very intelligent have a lot of qualities that make it an enjoyable and rewarding companion.

Exercise

I know, of course, an energetic puppy Pom derive much of their exercise through active play and took care of the house and garden. However, we like to go out and about. A daily walk to please him, because to satisfy his inquisitive mind and help keep mentally stimulated and physically fit. Be fast and agile, which is a good candidate for the sport of dog agility.

Education:

the basic obedience training should begin as soon as possible so that the Pomeranian should be a joy to live with and socially acceptable. It is a very intelligent dog and many Poms participated successfully at the highest level of formal obedience. It is not difficult to train, but everything must be based on positive methods with treats and praise and reward for good work. severe methods, physical or verbal are quite unnecessary and, if used, are eroding the bonds of affection, trust and respect that should be the foundation of any successful training. It is important that socialization should begin early in the puppy. To accustom the dog to the largest possible number of people, sights, sounds, animals, etc. can expect to find situations in his life, he spent a well-behaved, respectful, balanced adults to be proud people.
