5. Vizsla: The Vizsla is brownish in color, almost resembling copper. It is usually mistaken with a Redbone Coonhound or a Rhodesian Ridgeback. It is a medium sized dog, its height ranging between 21 and 24 inches. They are very fast and can run at a speed of up to 25 miles per hour. They also make good pets as they are adaptable, affectionate and playful. They may be a bit territorial hence they cannot be trusted around other pets such as cats.

4. Afghan Hound: The Afghan hound is a unique breed that originated in Afghanistan and it is one of the oldest breeds that still exist. They usually have fine thick coats that vary in color. The coat could be white, black or brown among other colors. Its tail is usually shaped like a ring at the end. This breed was originally used for hunting and it can reach a speed of 29 miles per hour. Its height can reach 29 inches. This breed is very intelligent hence training it would be easy. However, they may not be trusted around smaller animals.

3. Weimaraner: Weimaraner originates from Germany was earlier used for hunting wolves and deers. It is slightly large and very athletic. It is covered with a smooth coat that can vary in shade. It is usually between silver-gray and mouse-gray. The shade of the body is darker than the shade of the head. It can reach a speed of 35 miles per hour making it one of the fastest dog breeds

2. Saluki: Originally from the Middle East, this breed was used for hunting. It is slightly large with a height ranging between 23 and 28 inches. It can reach a speed of 43 miles per hour. This breed is affectionate, friendly and active hence it should not be inactive for long periods of time.

1. Greyhound: They are famous for racing because of their incredible speed. When running, they can reach a speed of 45 miles per hour. Although they have high speed and stamina, they are usually good at running short distances as they are not made to endure long periods of running.
